We all want to be as healthful as we can be but we do not always have time that we need to get in all of the exercise that is required to be so. This is definitely why some health professionals are advocating the ten thousand step method. The ten thousand step method is an idea that states that all you need to do to improve your health is to walk at least ten thousand steps every day--this way you won't have to work out as intensely at the gym. Walking is a great, low impact, physical exercise. How often have you heard "even a walk around the block each day can save your life"?
Obviously walking ten thousand steps every day certainly will not be simple. That's a great deal of steps to take! The best part is that you almost certainly already take the majority of those steps each day already and don't know it yet. All you have to do is learn how to add in a couple or few thousand more steps to succeed in this goal. So how can you do that without feeling like you're spending the whole day walking about?
Increasing the step count can be done easily using these obvious methods. Use the stairs instead of the elevator--that's rather basic. Parking at the far end on the parking lot can also be advisable at the mall or the store. To further this strategy, you could also remain parked in a single spot and walk your shopping bags out to the car as you accumulate them-instead of carting them all over the shopping center as you run your errands. Using public travel is fantastic for raising your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. Obviously, just choosing a short walk each day is also a good idea.
You could also improve the amount of steps you take by using some less than obvious methods. Order your current grocery list differently. Most people today will write out a grocery store list based on the aisles in the shops. Organize your current list in categories like dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Then find each item in the order that it is shown on your list. Sure you may wind up running back and forth through the store nonetheless it can be great for taking a lot more steps every day. Instead of having a mail box as part of your door or attached to your home, install it on a post close to the curb. This can easily add at least one or two dozen steps to your count when you check the mail every day.
There are lots of ways to take extra steps on a daily basis. The more familiar with the thought of 10,000 steps you get the easier it will be for you to figure out how to meet your goal. Thankfully, every single step you take--whether it's walking to the refrigerator or going for walks on a treadmill, counts toward your end step count goal. Try to have fun with your challenge!
